About

The Movies at Midway is a third-generation run movie theater located in the resort town of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Since 1941 the Derrickson family has owned and operated twelve theaters in the area, including the Midway Drive-in which held 600 cars. In 1954 the family built the single screen, 850-seat Midway Palace. The Midway Palace eventually grew to seven screens and in the fall of 1998 was demolished and rebuilt as The Movies at Midway, a 14-screen multiplex. The year 2009 saw big changes as the theater began the transition from 35mm to all digital projectors. In 2017 two smaller screens were replaced by a PLF 'The Cube' offering a 58-foot screen, laser projection, luxury seating and a Dolby Atmos sound system.
